High Quality Care for the Learning Disabled

Searching in vain for quality respite care for their disabled daughter, Marianne Sewell and her husband decided the only way forward was to create a better alternative themselves—and offer the same service to others seeking the highest standards of care for the learning disabled.

Residential provision together with several Day Service facilities began in the couple’s home. Expansion followed apace: Day Services moved to separate premises in the town and the house next door was purchased, thereby doubling residential capacity. Comprehensive Outreach Care followed and thrived.

The Mandalay continues to adapt and expand, relishing and meeting every challenge with a true passion to deliver the very best for those in its care.

Founded in August 2001 and based in the historic fishing town of Deal in Kent, The Mandalay is a dedicated, proactive organisation providing every type of opportunity and support for those with a learning disability.

Shops, train and bus stations, seafront, castle, park and leisure centre are all within easy walking distance.
